Recovery Base Cane Harvesting

Agriculture department of the factory draws cane samples of different varieties from different plots, these samples are brought to factory and tested in our laboratory using auto polarimeter. In lab sugar recovery in the sample is tested and reported to the agriculture department. Then all samples are arranged in ascending order and harvesting order is given accordingly, this helps us to harvest the cane when it is having maximum sugar content in it. Our harvesting program is one of the reason that every year we rank among highest recovery in the country.

Cane Development Program

In order to improve the economic status of the cane supplying farmers of our factory, SGSL have undertaken Cane Development Program to increase the cane yield per hector and sugar recovery in cane in which continuous guidance at village level is given to farmer to adopt modern techniques right from sowing to harvesting of cane.

To improve their soil fertility, we are providing soil & water testing facility, developed Cane seeds & seedlings, “TRIMURTI” Organic and Bio Fertilizers, green manure, recommended dosages as per soil condition from sowing till maturation of cane. All this facilities are given on credit without charging any interest to the farmers.

To encourage farmers to adopt modern technology, factory has started to provide subsidy for drip irrigation program. SGSL is providing accidental insurance of Rs. 1,00,000 to farmer. We also gift Gurudatt Krishi Calendar to our farmers, which has maximum details and information for cane cultivation. SGSL is supplying 1 kg sugar per ton of cane supplied by the farmer at the subsidised rate of Rs. 15 per kg. to the farmers.
