Social Activities

SGSL is established based on certain social responsibility to be rendered to the society. Many factories are established in Maharashtra based on cooperative principles. We have also adopted many such good principles in rendering social service. We have rendered many such social help through our organization which are notewarthy.

Accidental Insurance

From Season 2008-2009 continuously more than 6000 cane cultivators were brought under the scheme to get Rs.1 lakh accidental insurance and from Season 2009-2010 continuously more than 5000 cane harvesting labour are brought under the scheme to get Rs. 1 lakh accidetal insurance and Rs. 25 thousand medical expenses insurance. All employees are made eligible for Rs.1 lakh accidental insurance and Rs.1 lakh medical claim scheme. Many people are being benefitted by the above schemes introduced by SGSL.

Religious Activity

Our organization encourages and gives donations for many religious activities in our factory region.

Ambulance

SGSL has donated an Ambulance to National development Academy headed by Shri Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Consul General of India, New York, USA, as medical aid to the organization.

Educational Development Activity

To encourage the children of the region, for their development, the educational institutions are rendered financial as well as material support from our organization.

Social responsibilities as seen during 2005-2006 natural calamity

Even though our organization is run under the private ownership by Shri Ghatge and family, we had an opportunity to discharge our social responsibility to the society during the period 1st August to 15Th August 2005. During the above period due to heavy rains almost 12 surrounding villages were submerged due to heavy flood situation and caused severe natural calamity to the surroundings villagers, labors and their cattle’s. In such a grave situation, SGSL extended helping hand by providing shelter, food , medicine, clothing etc to almost 5000 flood affected victims and their family and 1000 cattle’s to fullest satisfaction of the victims. In addition to this due to the natural calamity, sufficient medical help was rendered to control the spread of diseases to affected family and animals by providing a medical center. The organization close down his business and fully concentrated for this social cause during this period. Considering the yeoman service rendered by SGSL during the above period, Hon. Sharadchandrji Pawar saheb (Ex-Union Agriculture Minister), Hon. Late R. R Patil (Ex-Dy. Chief Minister Maharashtra State), Hon. Narayan Rane (Ex-Revenue Minister Maharashtra State), Hon. Harshverdhan Patil (Ex-Cooperative Minister Maharashtra State), Hon. Hasan Mushrif (Ex-Labour Minister Maharashtra State), Hon. Vinay Kore (Ex-Non-Conventional Energy Minister Maharashtra State), Hon. Prakash Hukkari (Ex-Minister of Small Scale Industries Karnataka state) and many other honorable govt. officials visited this place and highly appreciated the social obligation rendered by SGSL during such a natural calamity in this region.
